e is a new 17-inch MacBook Pro on my desk and it's running Windows XP at full native speed, which is to say as fast as or possibly faster than a similarly equipped notebook from Dell, HP, or Lenovo. I've heard some people say that Boot Camp is a very bad idea and it will mean the end of Mac OS X, but I couldn't disagree more strongly.
