There are two things that I can expect when I receive a new product from Just Mobile -- it will be unique and it will be made from high grade aluminum. The AluCup proved to be no exception.

It is a multi-purpose desktop stand, sculpted from a single piece of high grade aluminum inset with soft rubber that can grab and hold. It functions as a stand when you sit an iPhone or iPod touch inside it, or as a reclining pedestal for either of those items along with the iPad or iPad mini.

The product features four cable slots to allow for clutter-free charging and is available in yellow, black, blue, and red. It measures 3.2 x 3.2 x 2.4-in (8.2 x. 8.2 x 6.2 cm) and weighs 4.6 oz (132 g).

Using the Product
This is an attractive product that looks appropriate sitting next to any Apple product. I like the four cable slots because it gives users placement options along with ample cable storage without danger of crimping.
I was particularly pleased that I could place my iPhone 5, dressed in the Mophie Juice Pack Helium case in the AluCup with room to spare. Some of the really bulky cases might not fit, but most of the cases that I have seen would fit just fine.

Using the AluCup as a stand for both my iPad and iPad mini worked well also. It was simple to pick up the AluCup and move it from one room to another to use it as a quick, temporary stand, but it did not work well with folio type cases.
Do I Recommend it?
I do. It can add a touch of color to any work station and keep an iPhone or iPod touch handy and safe at the same time. The iPhone and iPod touch are secure enough within the AluCup that neither can be casually knocked over, yet the design allows users to easily glance at the instrument and check the time, the caller, the charge level, or other information available at the top.
It can safely function as a stand for iPads or iPad minis as long as they are not in folio cases and holds them secure for viewing in landscape or vertical mode.
