Apple announced to .Mac members late on Monday that .Mac will be down for eight hours for scheduled maintenance this weekend. All .Mac services except e-mail from a client app (such as Eudora, Entourage, or Mail) will be unavailable from Saturday, Jan. 22nd at 10:00 PM until Sunday, Jan. 23rd at 6:00 AM PST. (1:00 AM to 9:00 AM EST).

Apple said that all Web-based services, as well as iDisk and new iChat sessions will be unavailable during the period. The company's note also said that Apple "regrets any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your support as we continue to enhance our service."

The timing coincides with the day that iLife '05 is to be released, and may or may not include improvements or changes to .Mac.
