I currently use an SD card for Time Machine backup on my MBP. It sticks out a little bit on the side, so this looks a lot nicer for $29.99, and 256 GB MicroSD cards are not expensive. I’d definitely recommend this before you buy an external SSD drive if you plan to carry your MacBook around.
