ATI Rolls Out Radeon 9600 Pro PC & Mac Edition

ATI Technologies Inc. introduced Friday the Radeon 9600 Pro PC and Mac Edition, the first AGP graphics card to support both platforms the Mac and Windows platforms.

The new card features two dual-link Digital Visual Interface (DVI) connectors and includes 256 megabytes of dedicated high-speed memory. The card will drive ultra high-resolution monitors up to 2560x1600 resolution or better, meaning it will support Appleis 30-inch Cinema HD Display.

The card comes with ATI Displays software enabling 90 degree screen rotation from Landscape to Portrait mode.

The dual platform Radeon 9600 Pro PC and Mac Edition is AGP 2.0 compliant, compatible with both AGP 4X and 8X systems, including Appleis Power Mac G4 series and Power Mac G5.

The AGP based Radeon 9600 Pro PC and Mac Edition is available immediately and retails for US$199.
