Adobe Adds New Cameras to Photoshop Lightroom 2.1, Camera Raw 5.1 [Updated]

Adobe announced Photoshop Lightroom 2.1 and Camera Raw 5.1 on Wednesday. The updates add support for 15 new camera models, and the Lightroom update also improves 64-bit performance on Intel-based Macs running Mac OS X 10.5 or higher, and will be available for download at 9:01PM pacific time on October 22.

Lightroom 2.1 also improves integration with Photoshop along with Keyword migration from Lightroom.

The new cameras included with the Lightroom and Camera Raw updates include the Canon EOS 1000D, Canon EOS 50D, Fuji FinePix IS Pro, Kodak EasyShare Z1015 IS, Leaf AFi II 6, Leaf AFi II 7, Leaf Aptus II 6, Leaf Aptus II 7, Nikon D700, Nikon D90, Nikon Coolpix P6000, Olympus SP-565 UZ, Pentax K2000, Sigma DP1, and Sony A900.

Camera Raw 5.1 requires Photoshop CS4. The recently released Camera Raw 4.6 update includes the same cameras, and is compatible with Photoshop CS3.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 is priced at US$299. The update is free for version 2 users, and Camera Raw 5.1 is a free update, too. Both are available at the Adobe Support Web site.
