Apple Closes India Software Office

The software development division Apple Computer opened this April in India is already closing down. According to The Times of India, Apple told the employees in its Apple Services India Pvt Ltd. office that it was laying everyone off as a part of a pull back of its India operations.

The division, which handled software development and support, was only about a month old.

Apple spokesperson Steve Dowling commented "We have re-evaluated our plans and have decided to put our planned support center growth in other countries."

Appleis sales and marketing office in Bangalore will remain open.
