Apple Files Plans for 7,800 Square Foot Glasgow Apple Store

Apple Computeris UK arm filed an application to build a new Apple Store in Glasgow, Scotland. The Herald reported Wednesday that Apple will spend some £1.17 million in converting an existing structure in Glasgowis high-end shopping area known as Buchanan Street.

ifoAppleStore reported Tuesday that the store will be located at 147 Buchanan Street in a 165 year old building. The store will be some 7,800 square feet, and will not feature a theater room.

Before the Apple Store can be built, the city of Glasgow must approve the various applications involved, which ifoAppleStore said could take months. Assuming that hurdle is overcome, the Glasgow store would be the 8th retail location for Apple in the UK.
