Apple Makes Time’s Gadget of the Year List

Time is conducting its annual survey for the favorite gadget of the year, and Appleis MacBook Pro along with the Nike+iPod Sport Kit are on the list.

Hereis what Time has to say about the MacBook Pro:

This iiMac on wheelsi has built-in iSight camera and remote for Front Row media manager. It features illuminated keyboard and brighter screen plus magnetic breakaway power cord. With the Intel Core Duo itis easy to watch the highest-definition QuickTime movie trailers.

And on the Nike+iPod Sport Kit:

This tiny runneris aid measures your pace from inside a specially designed shoe. Data streams to your iPod Nano which keeps time and calculates caloric burn. Select a distance or time for your workout (plus music) and a voice prompts you at intervals and when youire done you dock and upload the data and track your performance. Set goals for yourself or challenge others. Battery lasts about 1,000 hours -- thatis an hour a day for nearly three years.

Timeis Gadget of the Year 2006 list also includes Logitechis VX Revolution mouse, the Sanyo HD1 Digital Media recorder, the Nintendo DS Lite, The Logitech Wireless DJ, the Garmin StreetPilot c550, and the Palm Treo 700w. Logitech is the only other company to have two items on the nominee list.
