Apple Patches Audio Pops in Intel Macs

· by · News

Apple Inc. released a patch for Intel-based Macs Monday that addresses a sound issue some users were encountering. Audio Update 2007-001 patches that issue, and can be downloaded through Software Update in your Mac OS X prefs, or through its dedicated page at Appleis Support site. It is a 660kb download. This update is only needed for Intel Macs.

The company also released a unified Mac OS X 10.4.10 v1.1 that incorporates the the new audio update, so users who have not yet installed Mac OS X 10.4.10 will be given version 1.1 of that patch, rather than the standalone Audio Update 2007-001 patch. This download is 49.2MB, and can also be downloaded from its dedicated page at Appleis support site, where it is a 72MB download.

For grins, the company is also offering the Mac OS X 10.4.10 Combo Update v1.1 as a separate download from the support site. This update includes the audio update for Intel Macs, but can also be installed on PowerPC-based Macs, though there are no patches relevant to PowerPC-based Macs included. This update is a 297.2MB download.
