Apple Releases Security Update For OS X 10.3.2 Users

Hot on the heels of the OS X 10.3.2, there is a security update for the new revision of the OS. Security Update 2003-12-19 updates the AFP server, fetchmail, system initialization, and includes a fix for the cd9660.util buffer overflow vulnerability, among other things. From Apple:

Security Update 2003-12-19 delivers a number of security enhancements and is recommended for all Macintosh users.

This update includes the following components:

  • AFP Server
  • ASN.1 Decoding for PKI
  • cd9660.util
  • Directory Services
  • fetchmail
  • fs_usage
  • rsync
  • System Initialization

As of this writing, the 3.6MB update is available in the Software Update pane for users of OS X 10.3.2 only. Note also that the KBase article linked to in the update notes above doesnit currently have information about this new security update in it.
