Apple Releases Xsan Admin, Xsan Filesystem Update 2.1

Apple released Xsan 2.1 Admin Update and Xsan Filesystem Update 2.1 on Thursday evening. The updates provide reliability and compatibility fixes for the Mac OS X-based SAN file system.

Xsan 2.1 Admin Update improves remote Xsan administration and configuration. It also includes fixes for configuring volumes, LUNs and affinities with SAN Setup Assistant, changing a computer between client and metadata controller roles, listing computers connected to a SAN, and visually displaying when LUNs have been truncated. The update is available for download at the Apple Support Web site.

Xsan Filesystem Update 2.1 improves metadata controller reliability, using and validating file system Access Control Lists, and improves the process of upgrading from Xsan 1.4. The update is available for download at the Apple Support Web site.
