Apple Splits ProCare Tech and Training Support

Apple split its ProCare service package into two distinct offerings on Wednesday. ProCare become a tech support service, and the training arm from the support plan was spun off as a new education package called One to One.

ProCare offers same-day service at the Genius Bar, reservation scheduling up to 14 days in advance, repair drop-offs without reservations, expedited in-store repairs, yearly tune-ups, and data backup consultation for up to three computers.

One to One offers in-store personalized learning sessions with Apple trainers. Training topics include digital photography, Web site design, podcasting, Mac basics, working with iPod+iTunes, AppleTV, making music, and more.

ProCare and One to One are priced at US$99 each per year. ProCare members that joined before May 2 can take advantage of the new ProCare and One to One services for the remainder of their membership.
