Apple Sued Over "Predictive Snooping" Patent

· by · News

Computer chip technology supplier OPTi has filed a suit against Apple Inc. claiming the Mac maker is infringing on patents it owns. The three patents, according to the San Jose Mercury News, all relate to a technology called "predictive snooping."

The patents describe a way for a computer to operate more efficiently by controlling how information is exchanged between the central processor, memory, and other devices. OPTi previously sued Intel competitor Advanced Micro Devices for violating the same patents.

The suit was filed in a Federal court in Marshall, Texas, on January 16.
