Apple Updates SuperDrive Firmware for Power Mac G5, eMac

Apple Computer has announced a SuperDrive firmware update for Power Mac G5 (June 2004). Power Mac G5 (Late 2004), and eMac (USB 2.0). The update release notes say simple that, "the SuperDrive Firmware Update delivers updated SuperDrive firmware to improve reliability when accessing DVD and CD media."

The update weighs in at 2 MB, and can be downloaded from Appleis support Web site. Those using the systems listed above will be able to find the update in their Software Update control panel.
