Aspyr Finishes Prey for the Mac

Aspyr Media has finished development on Prey for the Mac, and plans to begin shipping the game on January 16. The game puts players in the roll of Tommy - a Cherokee garage mechanic who has to save Earth from alien invaders. Players can change the pull of gravity, walk on walls and ceilings, battle enemies in the spirit world, work with or against other players, and more.

Apsyr lists the minimum system requirements as:

  • Operating System: Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later
  • CPU Processor: PowerPC G5 or Intel chipset
  • CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz
  • Memory: 512 MB or higher
  • Hard Disk Space: 2.5GB free disk space
  • Video Card (ATI): Radeon 9600
  • Video Card (NVidia): GeForce 6600
  • Video Memory (VRam): 64 MB
  • Multiplayer: Internet (TCP/IP) and LAN (TCP/IP) play supported, requires a broadband connection
  • Media Required: DVD Drive
  • Supported Video cards:
    NVIDIA GeForce 6600, 6800, 7300, 7800
    ATI Radeon 9600, 9650, 9800, X600, X800, X1600

Recommended system requirements include:

  • CPU Speed: 2.0 GHz
  • Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4.8
  • Memory: 1 GB
  • Video Memory (VRam): 128 MB

Intel integrated video chipsets, like those found in the MacBook and Mac mini, are not supported.
