Avie Tevanian to Leave Apple

Appleis chief technology officer, Avadis "Avie" Tevanian, is retiring from the company to pursue other interests. According to SFGate, his official last day is March 31, but he hasnit said what his post-Apple plans are yet.

Mr. Tevanian started at Apple in 1997, and has been instrumental in the development of Mac OS X. Previously, he worked for Steve Jobs at NeXT. He was also very active in the development of the Mach kernel, which is used in Mac OS X, while working on his M.S. and Ph.D degrees at Carnegie Mellon University.
