Axis on Tuesday introduced its 207MW wireless network camera, which it said is the smallest of its kind on the market. It features MPEG-4 and Motion-JPEG images at 1.3-megapixel resolutions up to 1280 x 1024, with wired capabilities also included. The 270MW also offers a built-in microphone, support for the Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 protocol, and light sensitivity down to two lux.

The 270MW uses the 802.11g wireless standard, can be configured and monitored via a Web browser, and supports the WEP 64-/128-bit, WPA, WPA2, AES, and TKIP network security protocols, with multiple levels of password-protected user access. Axis expects to ship the camera next month with a US$399 price tag.
