· by Mike Washlesky · News

BKenney Software has released an update for Ugly Dockling, bringing it to version 1.2. Ugly Dockling is a menu utility designed to bring Classic menu features to OS X. The maintenance update features minor bug fixes. According to BKeeney Software:

Ugly Dockling 1.2 is available for download from BKeeney Software, Inc.

Ugly Dockling reduces the clutter in the Mac OS X dock by creating a menu reminiscent of the old Favorites menu found in the Mac OS previous to OS X. Users can create their own hierarchical menuis by either dragging files, folders and volumes onto the Ugly Dockling icon in the dock or by using the Ugly Dockling Finder Contextual Menu. Ugly Dockling lets users go directly to any System Preference pane from the menu.

Among the changes in this version:

  • Added the ability for users to change the dock images for Classic Running and Classic stopped
  • Added a bug reporting mechanism
  • Made the application a package in preparation for future versions
  • Minor bug fixes

You can find more information about the Ugly Dockling update at the BKeeney Software Web site. Ugly Dockling 1.2 is free for registered users, while the full version is available for US$10.00.
