Canary Wireless Launches 2nd Generation Wi-Fi Detector

Canary Wireless announced the launch of its second generation Wi-Fi detector, the HS20 Digital Hotspotter, on Tuesday. The device is the first device of its kind to include an LCD display.

The HS20 also features a slimmer form factor and an improved user interface.

The "Canary Wirelessi offering is the only device of its kind to provide smart signal analysis, including network ID, encryption status and channel data for 802.11 (b, g, and n) networks," the company said. The HS20 measures 2 x 3 x 0.5 inches (50 x 75 x 13 mm) and weights two ounces (57 grams). It uses standard AAA batteries.

The HS20 will be available online at canarywireless.com during the first quarter of 2008 and is priced at US$59.95.
