Systems has announced an update to DragThing, bringing the dock replacement utility to version 5.5.
Notable changes include full support for spring-loaded folders, new visual effects when switching between layers, and a restricted "Classroom Mode" designed for using DragThing in a lab,?classroom, or home environment. Version 5.5 also introduces another special mode that hides DragThingis icon in the Apple Dock, and?prevents DragThing from being switched to, hidden or accidentally quit.
There are over fifty improvements in the updated version of DragThing.
The upgrade is free for registered users of DragThing 5. An upgrade for registered users of DragThing 2 or 4 costs $12, individual licences cost $29, and five and ten packs are available for $99 and $149 respectively.
DragThing 5 requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later.
