EmiratesMac Previews Arabic Mac OS X

· by · News

The UAE Mac User Group, EmiratesMac, recently previewed a beta of an Arabic version of Mac OS X 10.4. Although the beta was clearly a work in progress, the user group was excited over the prospect of the first fully Arabic version of a Mac operating system since Mac OS 7.5.3.

Unfortunately, Apple isnit offering a time frame for completion of the localization, and isnit saying if it will be included in Leopard (Mac OS X 10.5). If not, Arabic speaking Mac users looking forward to Leopard will have to wait while Apple completes the localization.

An overview of the Mac OS X 10.4 Arabic beta, along with screenshots, is available at the EmiratesMac Web site.

Thanks to EmiratesMac member Magnus Nystedt for pointing this out.
