FireWire Depot Announces SATA Products

FireWire Depot announced a new host adapter card, drive enclosure, and bridge boards on Thursday. The FASTA-2e 2 port PCI-e SATA 3G Host Adapter is a PCI-e card that includes two external 3Gbps SATA connectors, and is compatible with the Power Mac G5. The adapter will be available in late May, and is priced at US$94.99.

The CMX-MB452 USB 2.0 + eSATA combo enclosure can hold a single 3.5-inch SATA I or II drive in a removable tray, allowing you use different drives. It is compatible with FireWire Depotis MB122SKGF and MB123SK drive trays, includes a lock to prevent accidentally ejecting a drive tray or shutting off the power, and has a USB 2.0 interface. The drive enclosure will be available in late May and costs US$99.99.

FireWire Depotis new bridge boards designed as an add-on to external drive enclosures to allow two SATA drives to connect your Macis FireWire or USB ports. FWBU2-DSATA01 supports two SATA drives and includes two FireWire 800 ports and one USB 2.0 port. The FWBU2-DSATA01-H includes one FireWire 800 port, one USB 2.0, and one eSATA port. The FWBU2-DSATA01 is priced at US$89.99, and the FWBU2-DSATA01-H is $99.99.
