· by · News

FirewireDirect has launched a new line of FireWire hard drives called FirewireDirect SlimLine ULTRA II Series. The new drives are made from 3.5" hard drives and use the Oxford 911 chipset. According to FirewireDirect:

FirewireDirect.com, Inc. has unveiled their second generation FireWire hard drive storage solution.

The new FirewireDirect SlimLine ULTRA II Series is an enhanced version of their popular ULTRA FireWire hard drives.  Newly redesigned in a striking blue chassis, the ULTRA II is still the highest performance line of FireWire hard drives available, once again featuring the 2nd generation Oxford 911 chipset.  The new drive is enhanced not only in form factor, durability and appearance, but provides the highest performance FireWire storage features at a price point not previously approached by industry leading top-quality FireWire storage products.

The new series of FireWire drives will range from a 40GB HDD for $199 up to a huge capacity 80GB, 7200RPM drive available for only $359.  FirewireDirect will offer RAID configured ULTRA II drives starting as low as $469.

With the introduction of the new ULTRA II, FirewireDirect now offers three major FireWire storage lines.  In addition to the ULTRA II, they offer the SPARK II, their second generation portable 2.5" drive product, with both USB & FireWire connectors, as well as their popular and industry leading FireWire RAID systems.
