G-Tech Intros G-RAID Pro Drive

LAS VEGAS - G-Technology introduced its new G-RAID Pro drive at NAB on Monday. The drive sports FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 interfaces with capacities up to 4TB.

The G-RAID Pro includes an on-board hardware RAID controller with support for RAID 0 and fail-safe RAID 5, and auto-rebuild capabilities. It supports up to four hot-swappable 7200 RPM SATA drives for capacities ranging from 1Tb up to 4TB.

G-Technologies also announced that the G-RAID mini 2 now supports RAID 0 and fail-safe RAID 1, includes FireWire and eSATA interfaces, and is suitable for downloading video from digital cameras in the field. The new model will be available in 500B, 640GB and 1TB capacities.

The G-RAID Pro and G-RAID mini 2 will be available in June starting at US$999 and $599 respectively.
