Griffin Ships FireWave Surround Sound for the Mac

Griffin Technology announced the immediate availability of FireWave for the Mac on Wednesday. FireWave adds Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound and Dolby Pro Logic II to your Mac through a FireWire 400 port. It does not require an external power supply, includes an extra FireWire port, and works with iTunes, QuickTime, streaming audio, and other audio sources like DVD movies and multi-channel OpenAL games including World of Warcraft and Unreal Tournament. The Griffin FireWave is priced at US$99.
