MacBook Air Ships, Apple TV Update Delayed

Apple announced on Wednesday that it is now shipping the MacBook Air. The promised software update for the Apple TV that supports movie rentals, however, has been delayed for "another week or two." Both were announced at Macworld Expo 2008 in San Francisco.

The MacBook Air sports a 13.3-inch LED-backlit glossy display, 1.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB RAM, an 80GB hard drive, a multi-touch trackpad, built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, ranges in thickness from .16-inches to .76-inches thick, and weighs three pounds.

Apple said that the Apple TV software update isnit finished yet, but should be available in the next week or two. The update will add support for iTunes Store movie rentals, an updated interface, and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. The update will be free for Apple TV users.
