MEETING TOPIC: CHARACTER ANIMATION

FEATURED--LIGHTWAVE 6.5!! Our special guest this meeting is Newtek, the publishers of the powerhouse Lightwave animation package. Lightwave is one of the most mature and respected animation packages on a number of platforms and has spent the last few years devoting great resources to developing its Mac product line, with LW for OSX around the corner. With great character animation tools, LW has been used for many high profile TV series and movies, boasting a powerful modeler, animator and Screamernet rendering software.

FEATURED--FABRIC TUTORIAL by Lance Evans A general tutorial on creating convincing organic fabric motion without the aid of expensive and proprietary plug-ins. Demoid in Electricimage but applicable to all programs with morphing and deformation tools. Tools used also include the now freely distributed software Cybermesh and Image2Fact.

Call to Members--Time to show your work! As our last meeting before our summer break we think itis a great time to have our members show their work. As you know many meetings do not allow for much extra time, so take this opportunity to get a short presentation together and share what you have done this year. Special emphasis on character work done on modeling and animation. Most interesting imagery will be featured on Mac3dNY.org during July and MacWorld NY! Please limit your time to 5 minutes and have your work burned to CD media in Pict and Quicktime format. When you register, please let us know you plan on presenting.

You can find more information, and pre-register, at the Mac3D NY Web site.
