Nikon Introduces 4.2-Ounce Coolpix S1 Digital Camera

· by Brad Gibson · News

Nikon USA announced Wednesday the Coolpix S1, a new 3/4-inch thick digital camera with a resolution of five megapixels.

The new digital camera, with a 2.5-inch display, includes Nikonis Face-Priority auto focus feature that accurately focuses by sensing the presence of a human face within the frame. Other new features include a 3x Zoom-Nikkor ED glass lens with a focal range equivalent to that of a 35-105mm lens in 35mm format, in-camera red-eye fix, which detects and corrects red eyes in most typical situations without the need to press buttons or select and highlight the eyes in playback, and a blur warning, which alerts the user when a shot is compromised by camera or hand shake.

The 4.2-ounce Coolpix S1 will be available in April and will retail for US$379.95.
