Picture Porter Offers Portable Image/Video/Music Storage

Digital Foci Inc. has introduced Picture Porter, a portable digital media player and viewer with a built-in hard drive and storage card reader. Users can save photos and video to the Picture Porter and view them immediately. The device comes with a 20GB or 40GB hard drive.

Picture Porter features a two-inch LCD screen on which users can rotate, zoom and pan pictures, as well as view the filesi EXIF metadata and play slideshows. The device can connect to a TV and accepts many storage card formats, including CompactFlash I/II, MicroDrive, SmartMedia, MultiMedia Card (MMC), Secure Digital (SD) Card, miniSD, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro and Duo and Memory Stick Pro Duo.

Finally, Picture Porter offers a USB 2.0 port and can also double as an MP3 or digital video player. It supports the JPEG, TIFF, BMP and RAW image file formats, the MP3, WMA, AAC and WAV audio file formats and the MPEG-1, MPEG-4 and DivX 5.x video file formats.

Picture Porter comes with the Windows-only digital media management software Ulead, a USB cable, an audio/video cable, earphones, an AC adapter, a remote control, a carrying case and a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery that Digital Foci says is good for 3.5 hours of video and 7.5 hours of music. It comes in frosted white and graphite and sells for US$399 for the 20GB version and $469 for the 40GB version.
