Popwire Updates Compression Engine With New Monitoring Tool

Popwire Technology has released an udpate for Compression Engine, bringing it to version 1.6. Compression Engine is a utility designed for encoding digital media. The update features speed enhancements and a graphical monitoring tool. According to Popwire Technology:

Popwire today announced shipments of its server-side media coding software, Compression Engine 1.6. With this release, Popwire has widened the format support even further and improved an already impressive speed.

Popwireis Compression Engine is a server-side media coding solution for the SUN and Apple platforms. It enables broadcasters, studios, and telecom operators to encode and transcode media for distribution to all kinds of audiences - from television, to webcasting, to video-enabled mobile phones. Particular strengths include its intuitive workflow, its coding speed, and its strong preprocessing capabilities for increased media quality.

The OS X version of this release also includes Popwire Monitor, a graphical tool for monitoring and managing the state of the Compression Engine.
