Print Finder Window Contents

· by · Tips

If you need a quick printout for the contents of a folder, it can be drag-and-drop simple. No extra software or add-ons.

Hereis how:

  • Make sure you already have a Desktop printer. If you donit, check out my Quick Tip on how to set one up.
  • Drag the folder you want a contents list for onto the Desktop printer.

Drag a folder onto a printer to print a file list.

Mac OS X will generate a report listing all of the files inside the folder for you.

I use this trick to create file lists when I am sending someone a CD or DVD that is loaded with lots of documents. It is quick, and since the feature is built into Mac OS X, it doesnit cost any money, either.

If you need a more detailed report of a folderis contents, check out the US$15 printwindow from searchwaresolutions.
