REAL Basic Updated With Expanded Plug-In Support

REAL Basic Software, Inc. has released an update for REAL Basic, bringing it to version 5.5.3. REAL Basic is a utility designed for software development. The update features expanded plug-in support and improved cross-platform compatibility. According to REAL Basic Software:

REAL Software, Inc. announced today the release of REALbasic 5.5.3. REALbasic is the powerful, easy-to-use development tool that enables Windows and Mac users to create software for Windows, Macintosh and Linux.

In addition to improving the productis overall reliability, REALbasic 5.5.3:

  • Adds more options for building REALbasic plug-ins. Developers can now use familiar environments like GCC, Visual Studio and Apple’s Xcode to create REALbasic plug-ins
  • Provides more reliable cross-platform group project management capabilities in REALbasic Project Manager
  • Improves support for Apple’s Address Book for Mac OS X
  • Supports XML in console applications and supports RBScript in Linux console applications
