RedleX Updates Mellel With A Bevy Of Enhancements

RedleX has released an update for Mellel, bringing it to version 1.4. Mellel is a multi-lingual utility designed for word processing. The update features numerous enhancements including a new interface and RTF import/export improvements. According to RedleX:

RedleX, have released Mellel 1.4, a new version of its advanced word-processor.

Mellel is a new and advanced multilingual word-processor built for OS X, containing many sophisticated word-processing features with many more coming over the next few months.

The new version of the innovative word-processor includes a built-in note (footnotes\\endnotes) that outshines even designated notes applications, a new iTunes-like graphic user-interface (with a twist), smart palettes, real-time word-count, greatly enhanced RTF import and export, and 20 other new features and enhancements.

New features in Mellel 1.4:

  • Note Tool: introduces a totally new concept of "stream" (chain) of notes
  • Note Styles: this feature allow you to create note styles and apply them to streams
  • New Graphic User Interface: Designed by a GUI designer Guy Hivroni Mellel now enjoys a beautiful graphic user-interface
  • Smart Palettes: the new smart palettes in Mellel can be shrunk and expended, to easily fit even inside an 600x800 screen, while dynamically changing their content to always offer the most useful options in logical order
  • Real-Time Word Count: a new statistics palette offers "live" character, word, line and paragraph count, with additional selected character, word and paragraph count
  • RTF Export and Import Enhancement: Mellel now supports all RTF options supported in MacOS X including paragraph alignment, margins and indent, tabs, line spacing, colour, underline, font, font face, font size, and more
  • German Version: a first localized version of Mellel in German, thanks to the wonderful help from Johannes Hoffman
  • And Much More: including intelligent cut and paste, drag and drop, improved find and replace, navigation buttons, export enhancements, bidirectionality improvements additional numbering schemes and dozens of minor enhancements and bug fixes
