Sony Mimics the Apple Genius Bar

· by · News

Sony appears to be set to mimic the Apple Genius Bar in its 55 Sony Style stores, according to IfoAppleStore.

The Sony version is called Backstage, and the locations will include, "computer-only services that include one-on-one training sessions, system optimization, hardware and software diagnostics, new software installation and data migration," according to the report.

A photo of one of the backstage locations was included, however the counter is not nearly as large as those found in the Apple retail stores.

Previously, the New York Times took Sony to task for its inattention to customers by focusing instead on branding in its Sony Style stores. Sony might be starting to realize what Apple has achieved with the Genius Bar.
