Star Wars ASCII Movie Resurfaces!

We simply got too many e-mails asking us about the Star Wars ASCII animation movie to which we linked last year. It started up again after Fridayis Cool Waste of Time which was about a Star Wars ASCII art site. So, we did what any good investigative magazine would do, we asked one of our forums mods (David Nelson to be exact) to see if he could find it. Fortunately, he did!

The Star Wars ASCII movie has been moved to its own domain, and is now known as Star Wars Asciimation. If you arenit familiar with it, it is an incredible animated movie that reproduces the first 25 minutes or so of Star Wars, all in ASCII art-based animation. The reason we are excited about finding it again is because the site to which we had linked went offline a month or so after we linked to it. Fortunately, the movie is alive and well. We strongly encourage you to check it out, as it needs to be seen to be comprehended.

The new site also has a page of Frequently Asked Questions that includes detailed information on how to make such a movie. Thatis right, you could Waste Lots of Time by making your own Asciimation movie. While you visit, donit miss the new "Death of Jar Jar Binks" mini-featurette.

These are the same screen shots and captions from last yearis article, but we are including them for those who may not have seen the article at that time.
