Wired: The 15 Dumbest Apple Predictions Ever

· by · News

Throw together a bunch of technology analysts that are sure they can read Appleis future, toss in a healthy dose of Rob Enderle, and what do you get? Wired Magazineis 15 Dumbest Apple Predictions of All Time.

Some of the predictions include the failure of the iMac and the iPhone, HP will sell more iPods than Apple (a TMO favorite), Apple is in decline, Sony will buy Apple, and more.

In 2004, Mr. Enderle predicted "The expectation on the iPod is that HPis version will probably outsell Appleis version relatively quickly."

Back in 1996, former Apple vice president Gaston Bastiaens said "Within the next two months, Sony will acquire Apple. ... Sony will be the white knight who will step into the picture."

Of course, Michael Dellis infamous October 1997 quote made the list, too. "Iid shut it down and give the money back to the shareholders."

The complete list of the 15 Dumbest Apple Predictions of All Time is available at the Wired Web site.
