XPress 7 Beta Set to Expire

· by · News

The public beta of QuarkXPress 7 is due to expire on March 31, rendering the application inoperable. A QuarkXPress 7 beta 2 will be available on March 30, but several changes in the XPress file format means that any documents you have already made wonit open in the new version. The workaround is to save any XPress 7 documents back to XPress 6, install the new beta, and reopen your saved files in beta 2.

QuarkXPress 7 beta 2 will include improved transparency support, Composition Zones, Job Jackets, and enhanced PDF export. The application will officially ship later this year.

Keep in mind that the beta version of QuarkXPress 7 is intended for testing, feedback and bug tracking, and should not be used in a real production environment.
