Aluratek on Tuesday announced that it’s now shipping Libre, its e-book reader that features a five-inch reflective light LCD display that it says mimics the appearance of printed paper. Its battery offers up to 24 hours of continuous use, and it supports the Adobe DRM, ePUB, PDF, FB2, TXT, Mobi, PRC and RTF formats, as well as MP3 files and BMP, JPG, GIF and animated GIF images.
In addition, Libre features five font size options, table of contents, bookmark list and page, content search, jump to page, zoom, auto page turn, background music, multiple language formats, auto power off and a help menu. It comes with a 2GB SD card loaded with 100 free e-books and supports SD and SDHC cards up to 32GB.

Libre sells for US$179 and comes in black or white. It works with Mac or PC.
