Apple's online store closed its virtual doors Tuesday morning ahead of the company's highly anticipated media event. The company is expected to introduce the iPhone 6 today, along with its first product in the wearable tech market.

Apple's online store was replaced with the familiar

The new iPhone will most likely be available with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays, a redesigned body that matches the iPad Air and iPad mini, a better processor and camera, longer battery life, and NFC support. The company's first wearable is expected to be a smart watch dubbed iWatch that includes a series of sensors to track biometric data, count the steps we take, and log our sleep patterns.

We will likely get a launch date for iOS 8 and possibly OS X Yosemite, too, plus learn when the iPhone 6 and iWatch will be available in stores.

Apple's media event is set to start at 10 AM pacific time. The Mac Observer will be on location bringing you live coverage and analysis, so be sure to check in for the latest news.
