Apple Brings Former Mozilla Security Chief Onboard

· by · News

Apple brought former Mozilla security chief, Window Snyder, on board on Monday as the company's new senior product manager for security.

Prior to joining Apple, Ms. Snyder served as Mozilla's Chief Security Something-or-Other in charge of security engineering, communication and strategy from 2006 through 2008. She has also worked for Matasano Security, Microsoft, @stake and Axtent Technologies in security-related positions.

Apple hasn't said exactly what security-related responsibilities Ms. Snyder will have, but based on her job history, she'll likely be directly involved in beefing up the security features in the Safari Web browser.
