Apple Highlights iPad Apps

· by · News

Apple has begun highlighting third-party iPad-specific apps on its Web site, complete with videos showing off app features. The Web page shows offs a long list of apps such as the Popular Science + magazine, Things for iPad, and The Weather Channel.

Apple made its own videos to show app features instead of relying on developers to produce content. While most videos show the apps in action with just background music, the Popular Science + app also includes a voice over explaining how the app’s features work, too.

The iPad is Apple’s tablet-like device with a 9.7-inch multitouch display. It is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch apps, and supports music and video playback, Web surfing, and includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with 3G wireless data access in some models.

The Web page highlights productivity apps, along with entertainment, news, and games. The videos are available in QuickTime format.
