Apple iTunes Festival App Offers Live Streaming Shows

Apple has posted the aptly named iTunes Festival London 2011 app for iPhone and iPad on the App Store. The app includes information about the artists playing the festival, gig dates, a fantastic gallery of great photos from past years’ events (like the photo of Ozzy below), links to the bands’ music on iTunes, and most importantly, the ability to watch streaming concerts when they happen, and on-demand for as-yet unspecified period of time afterwards.

The iTunes Festival is an annual event Apple holds in London throughout the month of July, with a different band featured each night. The company has been slowly unveiling the lineup for the event, and several of the bands added today are being billed as support acts for other headliners. This year’s lineup (so far) is listed below, with a few dates still unfilled.

The app released Tuesday also includes AirPlay support, so you can stream the live concerts to your Apple TV.

The app is free, and it’s a hybrid app for both iPhone/iPod touch and iPad.
