Apple Lowers iPhone 3GS Prices Ahead of iPhone 4 Launch

Following the introduction of the new iPhone 4, Apple reduced the prices on current iPhone 3GS models on the company’s online and retail stores. iPhone 3GS prices have been lowered by up to US$100, and Apple is offering free shipping, too.

The iPhone 3GS is available in black or white, includes a buit-in camera with digital zoom and video support, 802.11g Wi-Fi networking, Bluetooth, a digital compass, and support for Apple’s iOS 4 update that’s due to ship on June 21.

The new iPhone 4 is almost 25 percent thinner, includes a 5 megapixel camera with digital zoom and HD video support, a front facing video chat camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi networking, Bluetooth, a digital compass and gyroscope, and will ship with iOS 4 pre-installed. The iPhone 4 is set to ship on June 24.

The 16GB iPhone 3GS is priced at $149, and the 32GB model now costs $199. The 16GB iPhone 4 will cost $199, and the 32GB model will be priced at $299.
