Apple, News Corp Delay The Daily Launch

· by · News

Next week’s reported launch of News Corp’s The Daily digital newspaper for the iPad has apparently been delayed for a few weeks. The decision to push the launch back gives Apple more time to work on its new iTunes Store subscription feature, according to AllThingsD.

The Daily is coming… eventually

The app appears to be ready to go, so News Corp can go live with its daily iPad-only news service as soon as Apple is ready. The Daily will offer multimedia news to subscribers daily for US$0.99 a week.

The feature that seems to be holding up the launch is the in-app subscription service Apple has been working on.

The two companies were rumored to be planning a January 19 launch event at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Currently, the Web page for The Daily states “coming soon.”
