· by · News

Apple revamped its online discussion forums over the weekend with a push towards social interaction. The newly named Apple Support Communities will award members with points based on their activities, and lets users “like” posts they find helpful or interesting.

The Apple Support Communities forums include “communities,” or sub-groups that categorize posts by topic, along with the ability to customize views with widgets.

Apple began the migration from its older style discussion board system into its new social forums in August 2010.

Like the online discussion boards Apple Support Communities replaces, users don’t need to pay any fees to participate, and they can sign in using their Apple ID.
