Apple Plans Lunar New Year Sale for China

· by · News

Apple will be hosting a special one-day sale event on Friday, January 6, to coincide with the Chinese Lunar New Year. The sale will be available to customers in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Just like the Black Friday sale Apple offers in the United States the day after Thanksgiving, it isn’t offering up any details about what discounts shoppers can expect. The company is teasing, however, that shoppers will find “amazing iPad, iPod, and Mac gifts for everyone.”

Customers in the sale region will need to check Apple’s website, or visit an Apple Store, on Friday to find the deals.

I think the Lunar New Year starts on 23 January this year, so the 6 January sale doesn’t seem to “coincide” with it.

Checked the .ph online store and no sale notice for the Philippines. It’s on the asia page though, for china, hk, thailand, sing, etc… Can anyone clarify/confirm if the Philippines is part of the Red Friday sale?
