Apple Shares Grand Central Store 360 Degree Panorama

| News

Apple’s new Grand Central Terminal Store is already a popular destination, and for those that couldn’t make it to the opening, you can view the crowds through a 360 panorama available on the company’s website.

To view the panorama, just visit Apple’s Grand Central website and click View More Photos. Look for the image thumbnail tagged with “360,” and use your mouse or trackpad to move through the panorama.

iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users, however, are in for a special treat. Instead of dragging to change their view, they can tilt and turn their device and the built-in gyroscope will change the view as if they were standing in the store.

Alright that is cool, I just tried it.

Must be something wrong with me.
I followed your link, but there was no 360? panorama; just about 10 pictures to look at.

The panorama link is in the lower right of the image thumbnail list.

However, I am not getting it to work on my iMac, but it works on my MacBook Pro, iPad and iPhone 4S. Well I have to pan by hand on the MacBook Pro because it doesn’t have a gyroscope. Anyway, I sent a Safari bug report to Apple.

There is a photo with a small banner on it; “View More Photos.”  I click on that, a new floating window with a black background opens, and there are 13 thumbnails shown.  There is nothing to the lower right except a space where the 14th thumbnail might fit.  Clicking in that space does nothing.

Nothing.
