Apple to Open Stunning Paris Apple Store in Le Louvre on Saturday

November 6th, 2009 at 6:30 PM - News by Bryan Chaffin

Apple is scheduled to open up its first Apple Store in Paris, France Saturday, at 10:00 AM local. In typical high-profile fashion, Apple's new store is located in bowels of Le Louvre museum in that institution's Carrousel du Louvre shopping center.

"We are very pleased to extend the experience of the Apple Store in France," Ron Johnson, Senior Vice President of Retail Apple, said in a statement. "The new store is located below the famous Louvre Pyramid, in the Carrousel du Louvre. This is the place to go shopping, train and develop ideas."

The new store includes a level dedicated to the Mac, as well as a separate space dedicated to the iPhone. As with other flagship stores, the space is immense, and features a glass staircase. It is opening with a team of 150 employees, and includes the usual assortment of services such as The Genius Bar, One-to-One shopping, business consulting, classes, and presentations.

Every year, on January 3, (incorporation date) Apple followers and acolytes must go there to worship. Hooded cloak, white cord earbuds and Birkenstocks required.

OK, that really is a stunning looking store. I’m looking forward to seeing pics from inside once the doors open and customers are moving around.

Well, I’d say it’s about time. What took them so long?

Gotta love that stonework. ifoAppleStore.com said that Apple didn’t change or damage any of the stonework in the building.

The only question is, will it make it into the next Dan Brown sequel…?

Very nice. I hope to visit someday. I wonder if it will be like the Fifth Ave. store, though, and stay so crowded you can hardly move, nevermind try anything.

If it’s like other Parisian stores, it will be packed on Saturdays, which is the only day it seems that Parisians go shopping.
