Apple Updates iWeb 3 with Bug Fixes, FTP Fix

| Product News

iWeb
Apple updated iWeb 3 to version 3.0.3, an update that includes a couple of bug fixes and a fix for those using FTP to publish their Web sites through the software. iWeb is Apple’s Web design software for Mac OS X that is included in iLife (note that it is not currently available through the Mac App Store).

Apple’s patch notes:

  • Addresses an issue when using the iSight Movie widget on certain Macs
  • Addresses an issue publishing iWeb sites using FTP
  • Improves compatibility with Mac OS X

The update is available through Software Update (185.9MB download) if you have iWeb 3 installed. You can also download a standalone installer (177.12MB) from Apple’s support site.

Come on Apple. You’re maintaining iWeb, it’s past time for a serious update. I love how seamlessly iWeb works with my web site on MobileMe but it’s gotten very long in the tooth. It’s looking really rather archaic and crippled.

How about an update that kept the current integration with MobileMe, adds a bunch of features related to HTML5 and gives us the ability to see and edit the raw code.

I still get the Publish error. This update does not help the problem the last update caused. Good work in digging the hole deeper.
